READ VIDEO TRANSCRIPT:
All right. So this is the next video in looking at how to add content to your site. So we've started looking at how to add content to your site.
And in the last video, we looked at how to add new content that displays internally on your webpage. And just to demonstrate that, because I didn't technically do that in the last video that we made this worship night content.
And when we click here, we can see that it just displays right there internally on the page. Obviously this is a very minimal webpage, but you can add more information here if you'd like, but now we're going to look into how to add a external link.
So again, an example of an external link would be this current sermon series. It takes you to a podcast page in this case.
And so, or watch online takes you to your YouTube channel or wherever you want it to go. And so let's look at how to do this, and this is actually very simple.
It's even easier than adding internal content. So let's go to add new, let's give it a title. And so, yeah, let's say for this one that you want to feature a certain, well, I know we technically already have a podcast link, but you know what, let's just go again and just for sake of illustration, let's go for it.
So let's say that this is some type of, you know, audio, I can't spell audio podcast. Okay. Now you're still going to want to let me get rid of myself there.
You're still going to want to add this information here. But the main way to distinguish between if it's an internal content or external content, and that it's going to a link outside of your website is by this redirect URL.
So simple, the simplest thing to do is to just go here and you're going to want to put the full URL.
And in this case, I'm just gonna put church media HQ, and now that it's really it's ready to go. So again, let's let's put it in featured, let's publish it and let's go over to our homepage and we'll see that the content is there, but it's, it seems a little bit empty and how it does it doing the job it's taking out to the link that I wanted it to take it to.
But again, it looks kind of funny and weird in comparison to these other two, because there's no description, no image.
So we're still going to want to add some type of, you know, description. So this is a description I probably misspelled that, well, spellcheck comes in, comes in clutch there.
This is a description of this item and yeah. And then again, probably good to add some type of featured image.
So let's do that. And then let's go ahead and throw it on the connect page and I'm going to throw this into the main menu.
Okay. So update, well now, if I refresh the page, we see that there is an audio podcast and oops, my main menu changed did not.
There it is. So now it's there an audio podcast. It's also appear in the connect section and oh there, and then it's also added a link up here in the main menu.
Now, again, this is getting a little bit crowded. I recommend a three is kind of the ideal number because again, connecting about us and this button there, they're static.
They're always going to be there. So I recommend only having three additional. So yeah, I'm going to go back over here and I'm going to remove that from the main menu, but now whenever we click this link, it takes us out to whatever website or podcast link or YouTube link or whatever it is it takes you out to that link.
So this is how to update your website. Now, there is one last section and we're going to go ahead and cover that really quick here.
And that is this support tab now right here in support. There actually is a third item that you will see which is a way to access these tutorial videos.
But they're not there right now because obviously I am currently making them but you can send a support request. So you would send a support request in the event that you wanted our team to do something in particular.
So if you said, for example I mean really, if you say, I just want you guys to update it. I don't want to do it myself.
That's fine. Submit a support request and share your details, upload any images, confirm your account email, and we'll take it from there.
Also, if you say, I want to have something to be a little bit more custom in terms of you know, I want a little bit more of a fancy looking webpage, a special landing page for a particular event or something coming up well, that's also where you would submit a support request.
Describe it and we'll get the ball rolling. You should just note that anytime you submit a support request there is going to be anywhere from a one to three business day turnaround on average for more advanced web content, like a, maybe more more designed custom designed webpage.
Well, that's going to take typically a week or more to do. And so just keep those turnaround times in mind that said, anytime you need our team for anything, don't hesitate to submit this report support request rather.
And then of course you can log out here when you're done and you want to log out of your site, you can log out of the back end and then you would have to log in, put in your email and password to access the backend of the website again.
And this support section will grow over. So again, something you're going to see you're already seeing as a way to access these videos and so forth.
And we may add more to that over time. Well again, I do want to thank you for joining me for these videos, and it has really been enjoyable to walk you through how to use your website.
And I hope that again, the goal is to make something streamlined, something that you can use and you can manage with simplicity and something that if you needed our help, I needed our team.
You would be able to easily reach out to us and get the support. And of course don't hesitate to do that.
And also something else that is going to be on the support page is the ability to schedule a time to speak with me.
So you can do that directly through the support page there. And so if you need anything schedule a time to talk, Cita support requests, reach out, and we are so thrilled to be working with you and serving your church and helping your church make more connections online.
So thanks again. And if you need anything at all, don't hesitate to reach out. And I look forward to continuing to serve your church right here at church media HQ.
