Well, Hey there. And I want to thank you for joining church, meta HQ and allowing us to have a part in helping your church reach more people online through your website.
And so we are going to walk through right now, the basics of how to update and manage your website with our website platform.
We've really tried to streamline and simplify the process so that you can easily add, edit, and manage content on your site.
Now, everything on our websites are built on the word polo, a WordPress platform, which is a open source website content management system, and we've modified it and customize it to again, make it very, very streamlined and simple for you to use.
And so let's get started at looking at how to best manage your website. First thing that you're going to want to do is log in and as you can see, this is our sample website.
And so all you have to do is scroll down to the bottom footer menu and find the login menu or the login item on the menu.
The next thing you're going to do is if you haven't logged in yet, you're going to click lost your password.
And then here, you're going to enter your account, email address, click get new password, and you'll receive an email from church beauty HQ.
You may have to check your spam folder to find that email a spam or junk folder. It could go there and you're going to have a pass, a link where you can set your password.
And once you do that, then you'll go back to log in here and you will log in to your to the backend of your website.
And this is the backend. Now the first thing that you'll notice is the title of your website up here. When you click on that, it opens up the front end of your website so that you can compare.
And the first thing we're going to walk through is how to update the homepage information on your site. So you by default are brought to the homepage tab when you log in and as you can see, you've got information here that reflects what you see on the front end.
So the basics like your church, name, your location, I have Nashville, Tennessee, but it's best. If you put the full address location there of your church, you can also add a phone number if you'd like, and then we have your worship times.
So we have the weekend worship times, which for most, is going to be your Sunday services. And then there's also a place to put other services.
So just show you kind of how that works. We're going to add some information here about a midweek service, and we're going to update it now before, as you can see the worship time show up here on as the Sunday times.
And then again, down here, you we're seeing just Sunday times, but if we click update and then we refresh this page, well, now we also see the Wednesday time show up in this bottom page.
And you'll notice that that actually shows up at, in the footer of, of every webpage on the site. So we can continue to go down, make changes the homepage headline.
That's what you see right here. So we help you grow in Christ. You can change that to be anything, same thing with the subheader line.
You do have a choice of buttons. Now, both these buttons do the same thing. It's just a matter of how you want to word it.
If you want it to say, worship us or plan your visit either way, this is going to invoke the plan, your visit form.
And the reason we do that, and you probably know this by now is because we, our goal of our website is to do everything we can to get somebody, to make a personal connection with you.
So when they do the plan, your visit, they enter their name and their email. Now you get a notified that they have tried to contact you.
They're wanting to reach out to you through your site and you can make a personal connection. And we find many ways to ask for this, that connect with us button, where they can pick from these different options.
And then throughout the page and the website, you'll see, for example, connect with a group. It takes them directly to connect with a group form request.
Prayer takes them directly to a prayer request form. And then again, you will find several versions of this form throughout and buttons and certain links call pulling up that form rather so that they so that website visitors can make that personal connection.
Again, that is the main goal of every church media HQ site is to be optimized to make those personal connections.
So ideally you can begin to have contact and communication with someone before they ever actually set foot in your church.
And so moving on down the options of the homepage, you have your small groups items, and so connect with a group is what we're see here.
But again, you can change that to anything to say, connect with a group or you can change the details, whatever you want it to say.
Just know that again, the focus here is about small groups or connect groups or life groups or Bible classes or whatever you call it.
But that's the point is to offer an opportunity for them to start that step of connecting with a small group and a, some smaller at your church.
Then you have the welcome message. Now we'll come back to this section here in just a moment, but down here, you have the welcome message.
And as you could see, that is right here. Now, the nice thing about the welcome message box is that it does allow a little bit of text formatting.
So you can bold, you can italicize, you can underline things if you want, and you can also add links. And so you could add a link to something either outside of the website or something that is on the website.
You can add those links there in the welcome message. We also have a place where you could add what's recommended is to be an image of your pastor or maybe your church building.
And then you do have the option to describe that image here as well. And that's going to show up right there.
Then as we move to the bottom of the page, now we've already provided the information for our service times and our location and the we, we, our team sets up the map location upon the setup, but now we have the option to add some blue or some social media connections.
And so we just have the, the main for Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. And so the nice thing is, is if you say, well, I'm not on Twitter, that's okay.
Because as you can see, if you go over here to the website, after you've removed one of those, it's just simply no longer available.
So just add the connections you have. If it's one, if it's all, if it's none it's still going to work well, that is going to bring us kind of to the end of editing the homepage.
And in the next video, we will look at how to edit the about page and continue to add content to your site.
